John Malkovich Had Rejected Marvel's Role, Small Paid

JAKARTA - Actor John Malkovich marked his joining Marvel by becoming one of the actors in the film The Fantastic Four: First Steps. However, it was revealed that this was not the first time he had an offer to join a Marvel film.

He said that he had rejected Marvel's offer several times before. The reason is simple: the pay is considered small.

"The reason I reject it has nothing to do with artistic considerations or anything else," John Malkovich told GQ.

I don't like the (numbers) they offer. These films are difficult to make so if you will hang me in front of the green screen for six months, pay me. Otherwise, it's okay, but I don't want to do it," he said.

With paid figures deemed inappropriate, John Malkovich has a different focus than seeking popularity through Marvel films.

"I'd better be on stage, directing theaters or doing anything else," said Malkovich.

On the other hand, John Malkovich was surprised when filming the film The Fantastic Four because his experience was not much different from playing the theater stage.

"You guys imagine some things that weren't there and did a little theater," he said while explaining he wanted to work with director Matt Shaman.

John Malkovich still kept his character a secret in this film, but his appearance with a beard looks a little bit in the teaser The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Malkovich will compete acting with Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
