Six Sisters tells the story of the New Chinese era which made He Chang Sheng (Liu Jun) move his family from Jiangdu, Yangzhou, to Huainan, Anhui, and settle on the banks of the Huaihe River.

Over the next twenty years, He Chang Sheng had six daughters in a row, but died in a car accident.

The oldest sister He Jia Li (Ying Er), her grandmother He Wen Shi (Xi Wei Juan), and her mother Liu Mei Xin (Vivian Wu) became surviving family members. They began to bear the burden of the family and arranged for their younger siblings to start a family and business.
