The White Olive Tree tells of an interview mission in the volatile East Country, the female TV reporter for the Liang City satellite, Song Ran (Liang Jie) is facing danger.

Fortunately, he was rescued by Li Zan (Chen Zhe Yuan), a Chinese explosives engineer who volunteered in the East Country. Li Zan's gentleness and carelessness greatly caught Song Ran's attention.

Through various interactions with Song Ran, Li Zan also realized that even though he looked weak on the outside, he was brave and strong.

This made Li Zan even more fall in love with Song Ran with a heart filled with justice and kindness. With the same aspirations and a suitable soul, a spark of love ignited between the two. However, the bomb attacks that came suddenly stopped this growing relationship.

After returning to China, they reached their lowest point in their lives and even lost contact. They both suffered physically and mentally because Li Zan felt guilty and blamed himself for the death of his friend who sacrificed his life to save him.

On the other hand, Song Ran was involved in controversy over the photos he took during the bomb attack. Incidentally, they reunited, and their lives gradually returned to normal. Together, they planted the seeds of a white olive tree.
