Refal Hady and Nadya Arina's Reunion Story in the Film Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu

JAKARTA - Refal Hady and Nadya Arina are paired in the film Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu (Love is Never Right on Time). This film directed by Hanung Bramantyo explores the complexity of a man looking for his true love.

Refal and Nadya were previously paired for a romance film. This time, they are again involved in a romance film with different work.

"Both of them, I have been good with Nadya (Arina) or Carissa Perusset. For this film, Nadya herself has the longest relationship with me, of course the treatment is different," said Refal Hady to VOI on Friday, January 17.

"There are many bonds that cannot be avoided as the character Daku, while with the character Carissa is happier, bubbly, there are more things that fall in love so it is very contrasting with the serious Nadya," he explained.

The film, which is adapted from a novel by Puthut EA, also does not stick to the novel, because Hanung gives the players the freedom to show their characters.

“Usually from a novel if the vehicle is changed, the treatment is different but in general it is different but Mr. Hanung really gave us the freedom to develop according to the script. Then Puthut was very open and fortunately met a fun cast,” added Nadya.

According to Nadya, the film Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu presents a man's point of view as the main focus and is rarely shown in romance films. She believes the story is very relevant to those who have loved and been loved.

“What's interesting about this film is that there aren't many romance films that take a man's point of view and here it's from Daku's character. He looks like a jerk but there's a story about why he made that decision. This is a very male film that sees understanding but if it's from a woman, you can see it 'Oh why is my boyfriend like that' with his background. There must be many who relate, especially for those who have been dating for a long time but weren't given clarity. Something very human,” said Nadya Arina.

Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu tells the story of Daku (Refal Hady), a writer who experiences a dilemma in love. Nadya (Nadya Arina), his girlfriend, chose to marry another man, so Daku began looking for a new partner, including his mother's choice.

Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu will be shown in Indonesian cinemas starting February 13, 2025.
