JAKARTA - Senior comedian Nurul Qomar reportedly died on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. He is known to have died after battling colon cancer and has been being treated since December 2024.

Launching from the Cleveland Clinic, on Thursday, January 9, 2025, colon cancer is one of the diseases that must be watched out for because of a messy lifestyle.

Large intestinal cancer or colorectal begins in the large intestine, a long channel that helps bring digested food to the rectum and out of the body.

Large colon cancer develops from a certain polyp or growth in the inner lining of the large intestine. The layer consists of cells that make and release mucus and other fluids.

Some of the certain medical conditions that can increase the risk of developing colon cancer are intestinal inflammation, personal or family history regarding collorectal cancer, as well as genetic syndrome.

For lifestyle factors that can increase the risk of developing colon cancer, there is a lack of regular physical activity and a low diet of fruits and vegetables.

Risks also increase if a person experiences obesity or obesity, alcohol consumption, tobacco use, to a diet that is low in fiber and high in fat.
