New Chapter Of 'Warkop DKI' Film, 'Warkop DKI Cartoons' Released Their First Look

JAKARTA - It seems that the big name of Warkop DKI will never subside. From radio broadcasts, movies, reborn, now the group that is filled with Dono, Kasino, Indro has been reconstructed to become Warkop DKI Kartun. This animated film was born in 2021, in the midst of a pandemic that is still hitting, as a surprise given by the production house Falcon Pictures.

The film Warkop DKI Reborn, which is still at the top of the box office list for Indonesian films, is available in an animated format, entitled Warkop DKI Kartun. This cartoon film will feature the characters of Warkop DKI members, namely Dono, Kasino, and Indro.

Warkop DKI Kartun will also present Adipati Dolken, Aliando Syarief, and Randy Danistha as voice actors. This film also tells the story of an iconic Warkop DKI member as a CHIPS member.

Indro Warkop, as a member of Warkop DKI admits if the Warkop DKI Kartun exists, it is intended that Warkop DKI can reach out to more circles. "When Warkop is said to be a legend, the question will arise what kind of legend is it? The name of a legend must be known to all circles. Well, this cartoon is a way to introduce Warkop to children", he said when introducing the first look of Warkop DKI Kartun virtually, Thursday, April 15th.

This cartoon film, continued Indro, is the answer for Indonesian children who miss Indonesian animated films. "The culture of children in Indonesia when there were still many who liked cartoon films abroad. This cartoon is the answer to preserving Warkop, not replacing it", he explained.

Since being reproduced by Falcon Pictures, Indro emphasized that all of Warkop DKI's new productions are for preservation. For this reason, Falcon always involves contemporary artists to be involved in its production.

Like Aliando Syarief who played the character Dono in the film Warkop DKI Reborn 3 and 4. He admitted that he had difficulty filling the voice of the character Dono, in Warkop DKI Kartun.

"Even though I only fill out my voice, I keep wearing dentures to mimic his voice. I was too focused on the character Dono at Warkop DKI Kartun, until I forgot that I was wearing dentures. So when I said a line, (the dentures) come off. Yes, that's what often happens", said Aliando.
