Wicked: Part Two Movie Changes Official Title, Releases 2025

JAKARTA - The second part of the film Wicked has undergone an official title change ahead of its release next year. Previously, this film was titled Wicked Part Two.

Now, the film directed by Jon M. Chu will be titled Wicked: For Good. This title refers to the relationship between the characters Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande) which underwent changes after the incident in the first film.

"You guys will change. Wicked: For Good," wrote the official account for the film Wicked via Instagram.

The shooting process for the second part of the film was carried out after the film in the first part. Wicked: For Good will hit theaters on November 21, 2025.

The first part of Wicked's film managed to reap profits globally with $525 million, an impressive number for musical-themed films.

Wicked: Part One became the best-selling Broadway musical adaptation film during broadcast and broke the record on the Broadway stage.

Grande and Erivo also received Golden Globes nominations for their appearance in the film Wicked: Part One. They will return in second with Jonathan Bailey, Marissa Bode, Ethan Sother, Jeff Goldblum, and The Wizard of Oz.

The film is adapted from the novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West which tells the original story of Wicked Witch of the West and his friendship with Glinda the Good Witch.

This novel was also adapted in the form of a Broadway stage in 2003 starring Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel.
