JAKARTA - The Floriculture Indonesia International (FLOII) Expo 2024 Exhibition is entering its second day. Public visitors and ornamental plant lovers from various ages began to come to see and buy some ornamental plants displayed at the 2024 FLOII Expo.

In addition to the mutation and hybrid plants in the FLOII Expo 2024, there is also one species of plant that has just been found that also attracts the attention of visitors, namely Trichoglottis Najibii. This plant is a new orchid species found in East Kalimantan, Indonesia with characteristics in the form of lateral labelum lobes attached to the column and has a cylindrical and curved spur along 8-9 mm. This species is found in tropical rainforests at an altitude of 300-500 meters above sea level.

"It was found new to science and the world, that this type of orchid grew endemic in East Kalimantan, then I personally and friends described it with the name Trichoglottis najibii as a new species in Indonesia for the world of science and plants. And we highlight the plant to be introduced to be produced in the general public so that it is known by people from all over the layer also has a good price," said Yuda R. Yudistira, one of the discoverers of the new orchid species when met at the FLOII Expo 2024.
