JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/The Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf) appreciates the implementation of the 7th IVRA (International Virus Research Alliance) 2024, International Medical Conference, as an effort to strengthen the development of health tourism (wellness tourism) in Indonesia.

Deputy for Tourism Products and Activity Organizers (Events) of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Vinsensius Jemadu, in his statement, Tuesday (3/12/2024) said the event was held on Sunday (1/12/2024) at JS Luwansa Hotel, South Jakarta.

This event is the result of collaboration between IVRA and Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf, the Ministry of Health, and a number of associations such as POI (Indonesian Oncology Association), FIIM(Integrative Integrative Medicine), PDUI (Indonesian General Doctors Association), IHTPB (Indonesia Health Tourism Promotion Board), and AWMI (Indonesian Medical Tourism Association). This event was an international health conference that was originally held during the COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea to bring together world virologists to discuss the use of Hyperhtermia Device in improving the immune system affected by the COVID-19 virus.

"The 7th IVRA event in Jakarta consists of two segments, namely segments related to oncology specialists and general practitioners/integrative functional medicine doctors," said Vinsensius.

Vinsensius said that Indonesia was chosen to host IVRA International Medical Conference for the first time. After previously being held in South Korea and Malaysia in turn.

"The implementation of the VII IVRA for the first time in Indonesia will certainly have an impact on the progress of medical wellness tourism in Indonesia," he said.

The event also has the potential as a place for effective knowledge transfer between oncologists and integrative functional experts from the international world and Indonesia as a process of improving the quality of health industry services in Indonesia, especially.

This meeting between international experts and Indonesia will also produce effective cooperation both in terms of improving service quality, holistic service modes, and integrated care offered, and bringing various solutions to the various challenges faced in the treatment of cancer both globally and in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Director of Special Interest Tourism at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Itok Parikesit, added that this conference is expected to expand participant insight and knowledge regarding the use of Hyperhtermia Devices in the country.

"We also hope that this event participants can provide solutions and strategies for developing the integrated cancer care needed in Indonesia. Given the increasing number of cancer cases and lack of cancer service centers in Indonesia, especially in various provinces in Indonesia," said Itok.
