JAKARTA - A light plane crashed near Rottnest Island, Western Australia, killing two tourists from Switzerland and Denmark and its pilots.
The plane took six tourists when it crashed on Tuesday afternoon off Rottnes Island, a popular tourist destination about 30 km (18.6 miles) west of Perth. Three tourists who survived were injured.
"My thoughts are on the families and friends of the victims. This is certainly very difficult for everyone involved," Western Australian state Prime Minister Roger Cook said at a news conference.
The accident occurred in front of tourists, including families with children on vacation on the island.
