Insulting Ice Tea Trader, Gus Miftah Expresses Apology After Being Reprimanded By Major Teddy

JAKARTA - The lecturer and Presidential Special Envoy, Gus Miftah, apologized after a video showing him insulting ice traders went viral on social media. Gus Miftah said that he did not intend to insult but was just a joke.

He will also apologize directly to the ice tea trader. "With humility, I apologize for my mistake. I often joke with anyone," said Gus Miftah, quoted by VOI from YouTube Celeb Tube TV, Wednesday, December 4.

"So at that time, with a joke to the person concerned, I will apologize directly. Hopefully, the door of apology will be opened profusely," he continued.

He also apologized because his behavior eventually caused a commotion in the community.

"I also apologize for this commotion, which was disturbed by my jokes, which were judged by the public to be excessive, for that I apologize," said Gus Miftah.

The owner of the real name Miftah Maulana Habiburrahman said that he had been directly reprimanded by the Cabinet Secretary, Major Teddy and would use this incident as a form of self-introspection in his attitude.

"This is also an introspection for myself to be more careful in speaking in public. I have also been reprimanded by Mr. Siskab who is now in Kupang to be careful in expressing opinions and speeches in front of the general public," he said.

Previously, Gus Miftah, was seen making fun of an ice tea trader who was selling at a Magelang Bersholawat event recently.

"Is your tea ice still a lot? Still? Yes, it was sold there, g****k. Sell it first, later if it's still not sold, then it's fate," said Gus Miftah to the ice tea trader in the video.
