Australia Has Been Named The Most Interested Country In The World

JAKARTA - Australia has again won the title as the most popular country to visit according to the reader of Britain's leading travel magazine, Wanderlust. Australia's treatment as the most popular country is based on the survey results from readers.

Reported by VOI from the Stuff.co.nz page on Monday, December 2, 2024, for the third year in a row, Wanderlust readers chose Australia as the most desirable country in the annual Reader Travel Awards.

Of the total more than three million votes collected from 168,000 readers, Australia outperforms other countries in 22 categories, including adventure, sustainability, culture and heritage, wildlife and nature, as well as culinary. This is the determining factor for Australia's victory

Wanderlust magazine says Australia's victory may not come as a surprise, given the growing cultural tours managed by the Aboriginal community and Torres Strait Islander.

"These trends open new ways to explore the beauty of this ancient country, ranging from exploring the roots of the original culture of iconic cities such as Sydney to exploring the red desert in the Northern Region which carries cultural stories for 65 thousand years," reads the magazine.

In addition, tourists visiting Australia are now increasingly interested in exploring destinations that are rarely visited.

Several popular activities include diving with whale sharks, turtles, and manta rays in Ningaloo Reef, as well as exploring Kangaroo Island which is rich in wildlife and Tasmania is full of natural beauty.

Following in the second position as Canada's most popular country, followed by Japan in third place. Next, New Zealand is in fourth place. However, New Zealand still leads as the best tourist destination for adventure.
