JAKARTA - Chinese drama Brocade Odyssey is the latest drama adapted from Zhuang Zhuang's Shu Brocade Family novel. This drama takes the background of the Tang dynasty which focuses on the adventures of two characters.

Besides Tan Song Yun and Zheng Ye Cheng, this drama also stars Jing Chao, Chen Xiao Yun, Wang Yi Nuo, Zhang Hao Wei.

Brocade Odyssey tells the story of Ji Ying Ying (Tan Song Yun), a young woman from Huanhua Dyening Workshop in Yizhou, and Zhao Xiu Yuan (Zhang Hao Wei), a big brokat family in Yizhou, a childhood lover.

However, due to family pressure, Zhao Xiu Yuan could only marry Niu Wu Niang (Wang Yi Nuo), the daughter of the official Niu family.

Ji Ying Ying meets Yang Jing Yuan (Zheng Ye Cheng), the third son of Jin Wang Yang's family. Yang Jing Yuan falls in love with him at first sight, but Ji Ying Ying dislikes Yang Jing Yuan very much.

Shortly thereafter, the two of them became happy friends, and their feelings got warmer. At this time, the prince of the Nanzhao Kingdom, the White King, visited Yizhou.

This man wanted Ji's coloring skills and used the Zhao family's secret coloring prescription to steal Ji's coloring recipe.

The visit of Yang's family to raise relatives also allowed Ji's family to temporarily survive the crisis. The king then took into account the failure of Ji's family, so he attacked Yizhou and took Ji Ying Ying away.
