JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the money of 12,000 Singapore dollars seized from Juprizal as Chairman of the Kuantan Singingi Regency DPRD is related to an envelope returned by the Minister of Forestry (Menhut) Raja Juli Antoni to the Regent of Kuansing Suhardiman Amby.
KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the money was collected from the residual business results (SHU) of farmers who were members of the Village Unit Cooperative (KUD) to handle the process of releasing the Limited Production Forest (HPT) area.
"JUP is suspected of knowing the process of collecting money by the regent from KUD members. The money seized is suspected to be part of the money returned by the Ministry of Finance," Budi told reporters in a written statement, Thursday, July 9.
