JAKARTA - Hair and skin problems are often faced by many people in the world, including in Indonesia. Seeing this, L. Oreal together with the Association of Indonesian Skin and Gender Specialists (PERDOSKI) and the University of Indonesia (UI) again held the Hair & Skin Research Grant 2024 program.
The program aims to advance the research and innovation of skin and hair in Indonesia. This year research focuses on the use of Indonesian natural ingredients as an innovative solution to answer various hair and skin health problems for the Indonesian people.
"We are proud to be able to hold this program again to empower the latest research among dermatologists in Indonesia," said Junaid Murtaza, President Director of L'oreal Indonesia in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, on Thursday, November 28, 2024.
This program was also made to advance the growth of the world of dermatology in Indonesia with the researchers participating. In Indonesia, there is currently 1 dermatologist for every 100,000 people in Indonesia. Meanwhile, according to World Health Organization (WHO) standards, there needs to be at least 4 dermatologists for each 100,000 people.
This program can be a means of expanding research networks and forums to realize research ideas related to the skin and hair sector. Through this program, we together want to encourage the opening of a collaboration space between industry and researchers that ends up in solutions to various kinds of hair and skin problems in Indonesia," said Sugeng Supriadi, ST., MSEng., PhD, Member of the Jury for Hair & Skin Research Grant 2024.
