JAKARTA - Inara Rusli's name was in the spotlight again when she told a story that she was trapped in a toxic marriage with her ex-husband, Virgoun.

Not only when married, Inara has received unpleasant comments from her own family regarding her behavior as a wife during her marriage.

"I've had it from my family. Even I got it from my family, my own family," said Inara Rusli, quoted by VOI from YouTube TransTV Official, Thursday, November 14.

Inara admitted that she was hurt when she heard such talk. However, she tries to understand that Indonesia still has a patriarchal paradigm even in the toxic stage.

"Even though I'm sick, I'm trying to understand that in Indonesia this person's paradigm is still patriarchal, maybe more toxic patriarchy," said Inara Rusli.

He mentioned one of the painful questions, namely the way he'serves' Virgoun when he gets married.

"(Asked) 'Do you serve him right?'. Yes (making him sad). Serving him not serving, you know," said Inara Rusli.

At that time, Inara felt that she did not need to be taught about serving her husband. Moreover, she is actively involved in the entertainment world.

"I think if it's a problem of serving, I don't think there's a need to be taught this time, I'm also a girl first, I know how to attract people," he said.

Now after a year of divorce from Virgoun, Inara admits that she feels happier and lighter because there is no longer a burden.
