6B Trend Phenomenon In South Korea, Women Reluctant To Interact With Men

JAKARTA - Recently, the 6B movement in South Korea has managed to steal the world's attention. Recently, South Koreans have been shocked by the 6B movement that was enlivened by a number of South Korean women. This movement attributes women to interacting with men.

Reported by VOI from The Independent page on Friday, November 1, 2024, initially appeared a 4B movement on women in 2019. The 4Bs are Bihon (unregistered), Bichulsan (not giving birth), Biyeonae (not dating), and Bisekseu (not having sex).

Five years later, this movement managed to attract widespread attention on social media. Now, this trend has increased to the '6B' phenomenon by adding that women's principles completely reject relationships with men. 6B focuses on cutting off women's communication and interactions with men.

This movement is a symbol of resistance to violence and injustice that women often experience. In addition, this movement is also part of the form of affirmation of identity and the choice of modern life.

This movement is considered an act of revenge for many incidents of female murder, to online sex crimes. Women in South Korea are also furious to see the perpetrators who do not get the appropriate punishment.

Based on local South Korean KBS media reports, in 2023 there was 1 woman who died every 4 days, because she was killed by an unknown person. In almost 3 days, one woman experienced sexual violence with a partner.

A number of figures such as YouTuber Jung Se-young and Baeck Ha-na who often promote this lifestyle through their channels, SOLOdarity has voiced that marriage is the root of patriarchal culture that limits women.

They also encourage women to refuse the duties of a feminimous officer who is considered an obligation, namely to marry and take care of children.

The women who underwent the 6B movement did this not only rejected traditional roles, but emphasized the right to live according to choice, without pressure.

Many South Korean netizens provide support for the 6B movement. They consider this a step forward for freedom from social norms to be pressing. However, the Government and the Government are worried about the impact of the birth rate which has dropped dramatically.
