More Sophisticated, Ketum IDI Reminds Doctors Not To Rely Too Much On Technology

JAKARTA - The health technology used by doctors does make it easier for doctors to work, but this technology is enough to use to diagnostic patients more easily.

This was conveyed by the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Dr. dr. M. Adib Khumaidi Sp.OT. According to him, doctors cannot only rely on health technology in treating patients but must be with a humanist approach.

"In the medical profession, health workers, we manage patients, not like machines, but we manage patients as human beings, as humans who really have to get starting from gestures, communication, touch," Adib said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 24, 2024.

He also said technology is not a new knowledge producer but only as a tool for an action approach. This is to avoid the doctor's nature from becoming rigid and continue to take a human health education approach.

Tidak kemudian menjadi satu hal yang utama bahwa teknologi ini akan bisa membuat sebuah ilmu pengetahuan baru, tidak, tapi hanya sebagai tool-nya saja, katanya.

Adib said that in this era of health technology, doctors must continue to prioritize traditional services that continue to provide human touch experiences or touch that must be given to the community.

Meanwhile, Adib said doctors must place patients not as objects but also as subjects, so that the paradigm must be changed in serving patients with good communication so as to reduce risks related to disciplinary issues and ethical problems.

"Let's invite all doctors to further improve their services while still prioritizing good doctors, competent doctors, and ethical doctors," said Adib.

On the 74th Anniversary of IDI, Adib emphasized the target of the Indonesian people's movement to love Indonesian doctors by rebranding which makes IDI an institution with scientific based and builds a strong spiritual bond.
