Malaysia Becomes The Country In Asia Most Loved, Visited By 16 Million Tourists In 8 Months

JAKARTA - Recently, Malaysia was ranked the top as the country most loved in Asia, beating other popular tourist destinations such as Singapore, Thailand, China, to Indonesia.

Reporting from the Vn Express International page, Malaysia was chosen as the most loved country in Asia by the American financial website Insider Monkey. Malaysia was visited by 16.45 million foreign tourists between January and August or 8 months, marking a 30% increase compared to the same visit last year.

According to the Malaysian Minister of Tourism, Art and Culture Datuk Seri Chinese King Sing, quoted from The Edge Malaysia, the foreign tourists who visited Malaysia the most were Singapore.

Singapore is the largest source of visitors during this period, contributing 5.77 million arrivals. Then, followed by Indonesia with 2.4 million and China with 2.29 million.

Meanwhile, Thailand ranks fourth with 1.09 million visitors, while Brunei occupies the top five with 785,548 arrivals. Now, Malaysia has set a foreign arrival target of 27.3 million this year.

Famous for its diverse cultures, Malaysia surpassed Singapore and Thailand to become Asia's most beloved country, according to an Insider Monkey survey conducted in June.

To further increase tourism, Malaysia has also relaxed visa requirements for visitors from major economies such as China and India.

In the same eight-month period, Thailand recorded 23 million international tourists, while Vietnam welcomed 11.2 million.
