JAKARTA - The Indonesia Kaya Gallery with the EKI Dance Company displays the folklore of Lutung Kasarung in a musical performance format at the Kaya Indonesia Gallery Auditorium, Jakarta, Saturday, September 14 evening.

As quoted by ANTARA in a gallery press release in Jakarta, Sunday, September 15, Director of the Indonesian Gallery Program Kaya Renitasari Adrian said that Lutung Kasarung is one of the folklore that is presented in video format through the #MusikalDiRumahAja Program.

The enthusiasm of art lovers towards the #MusikalDiRumahAja Program encourages the Indonesia Kaya Gallery to present a series of folklore from the web series in the form of musical performances.

The musical performance of Lutung Kasarung, which lasted for approximately 60 minutes, was directed by Ara Ajisiwi. The music organizer is Oni Krisnerwinto.

The performance of the musical Lutung Kasarung entertained the audience with comedy and acts of theater, dance and song, as well as attractive multimedia support.

"Hopefully this offering can be useful and entertain art connoisseurs so that the weekends of art connoisseurs will be more colorful," said Nala Amrytha as producer and actor of Purbasari in the musical performance.

Lutung Kasarung is a legend from Sundanese land about Sanghyang Guruminda, who came down to earth as a poor lutung figure and helped a daughter named Purbasari.

Purbasari has a severe skin disease because he was cursed by his evil brother, Purbararang. He met Lutung Kasarung when he was exiled in the middle of the forest.

Lutung Kasarung then helped Purbasari return to the palace and took his rights which were seized by Purbararang.
