JAKARTA The 2024 Asian Physics Olympiad (APHO) team has just finished attending the APHO event in Kampar, Malaysia, which was held in the first week of June 2024 at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman Campus. The team, consisting of 8 selected high school students, managed to make proud achievements by winning 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, 3 bronze medals and 3 Honorable Mention.

This achievement should be proud and appreciated. Therefore Crystalin, the brand of drinking water in original Indonesian packaging, gave an award in the form of a coaching fund of 100 million rupiah through the Sinergi Foundation to educate the State Tunas (SIMETRI) as the supervisor of the 2024 Indonesian APho Team.

Crystalin as a bottled drinking water brand, native to Indonesia, has supported many activities related to sports, such as running, basketball and football.

Until then we met with the management of the SIMETRI Foundation, which has facilitated almost a quarter of a century talented Indonesian students in the field of PHYSIKA to compete in the global sporting event. We realize that the achievements of the nation's children are not only in the field of sports, but also in the field of science. For this reason, Crystalin provides support in the form of development funds of 100 million rupiahs, which we channel through the SIMETRI Foundation.

"As for the medal winners, we provide additional pocket money. Hopefully, the achievements of the APho Indonesia team in 2024 can encourage more Indonesian students to be more active in studying science," said Wijoyo, Marketing and Sales Director of Crystalin, at the OT Building when welcoming the Indonesian Apho team, in Jakarta.

The implementation of APhO 2024 this time is the largest of the number of participants. There are 28 teams with a total of 280 students from various countries in the world. There are 27 participating countries including Indonesia. The gold medal for the Indonesian team was presented by Jack Howard Wijaya from SMA Darma Yudha, Pekanbaru. Jack Howard received an additional pocket money from Crystalin of 5 million rupiah.

Jack Howard and his friends have undergone a rigorous selection process. They were selected nationally through 3 stages. Most selection participants also participated in the national science Olympics. The first stage was attended by 15 students, the second stage was only 10 students and the third stage was 8 students who represented Indonesia. They were intensely guided. The total time from selection to guidance is around 4.5 months. All processes are free, free of charge. We hope and pray that support for the Indonesian Physics Olympic Team (TOFI) to APHO will continue and increase because this is the first year the need for funds is sufficient from sponsors. Events like APho are indeed far from high fanfare, and not many Indonesians know and may care. When compared to sports events, for example. But Indonesian human resource development in the field of science is certainly no less important.
