Perpetrators Arrested, Ria Ricis Extorted And Threatened By Suspects Due To Economic Factors

Polda Metro Jaya said that the suspect in the threat and extortion case that dragged the name of celebrity Ria Ricis was finally arrested. Dirkrimsus Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak said the suspect was arrested at his home in the East Jakarta area.

"And on June 10, 2024, on Monday at 01.20 WIB in the morning the investigation team of the Jatanras Cyber Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jakarta managed to force the arrest of the suspect with the initials AP at his home in Cipayung Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta," said Ade Safri at Polda Metro Jaya, Tuesday, June 11.

Now the suspect has been detained for detention at the Metri Jaya Police Detention Center for further questioning.

"And the suspect was taken to the Mako or the office of the investigation team of the Cyber Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya for further investigation into the alleged crime that occurred," he added.

The police have secured several pieces of evidence such as 1 device unit and 2 SIM Card units used by the perpetrators to threaten their victims.

"And some of the evidence that was successfully confiscated by the investigative team included 1 unit of black Oppo A5 cellphone used by the suspect AP to threaten through electronic media with 1 SIM card, then 1 SIM card as well, so for the suspect AP, he threatened through two cellphone numbers, with 1 unit of cellphone used," explained Ade Safri.

Ade said that the motive of the suspect for threatening and also extorting Oki Setiana Dewi's sister was due to economic factors.

"So for the time being, the motive for suspect AP in committing a criminal act that occurred was in the form of threatening the reporter, in this case the victim himself, while the motive was economic," he said.
