Don't Have To Compensate If Found Guilty, Tiko Aryawardhana Will Be Imprisoned

JAKARTA - The husband of singer Bunga Citra Lestari alias BCL, Tiko Aryawardhana is currently being discussed by the public because he is suspected of embezzling funds that were reported by his ex-wife, AW.

On one occasion, AW's attorney, Leo Siregar, said that his client reported Tiko under Article 374 of the Criminal Code regarding embezzlement and fraud of funds in office with a maximum penalty of five years.

"(Reported under article) 374 of the Criminal Code, embezzlement with position. The maximum penalty is five years," said Leo Siregar in a video connection, Tuesday, June 4.

Furthermore, Leo also said that SW suffered a loss of up to Rp. 6.9 billion for this incident.

Even so, he explained that later Tiko could not be required to pay compensation for this loss because the report was based on criminal law.

"Based on criminal law, no one has to compensate. The consequences of paying are not there. So the punishment is (only) confinement," explained Leo Siregar.

Previously, in this case, Tiko himself had undergone an examination with the police which was conveyed by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Bintoro.

"Yes, the person concerned has attended, so when we have clarified the investigation, then in this investigation process we will also summon the person concerned," said Bintoro at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Tuesday, June 4.
