JAKARTA - Actor Michael B. Jordan on Thursday was appointed as the director for the film Creed III.

Jordan, who played Donnie in his first two films, has long been rumored to have directed the Creed franchise. In fact, before this announcement was broadcasted, actress Tessa Thompson had already leaked that Jordan was the director for the third film.

Now, the MGM production house confirms the news. Thompson and Phylicia Rashad also played a role in this film.

"Directing is always a desire, but the timing must be right", Jordan said as quoted by Deadline, Friday.

According to him, Creed III is a project that makes him confident in himself, understands the story, and be more mature to try as a director.

"Learned from great directors like Ryan Coogler, then Denzel Washington, and other top directors that I respect", said Jordan.

Jordan admits that Creed III will be his personal work and can't wait to share the Adonis Creed's story with fans.

Creed is a spin-off of the Rocky film franchise starring Sylvester Stallone. In the Creed franchise, Stallone appears as Rocky Balboa who trains Creed.

Creed III is projected to release in November 2022.
