JAKARTA - The GDH production house presents a family film that will touch Thailand's signature storytelling formula. This year, they brought How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies with Klikfilm which was shown in Indonesian cinemas.

This film made Pat Booninitipat's directorial debut on the big screen several times after directing lakorn such as Diary of Tootsies (2016) and Bad Genius (2020). Interestingly, this is also an acting debut for actress Usa Semkhum at the age of 78 years.

In addition, this film also features the young singer Putthipong Assaratanakul who is familiar with the name Billkin acting first as the main character. Actress Tontawan Tantifjakul also marked her debut on the big screen.

How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies tells the story of M (Putthhipong Assaratanakul), a gamer who dropped out of school to become a successful streamer. In fact, M lives a long life because his streaming content does not make money.

M relies on his mother, Xiu (Sarinat Thomas) and always asks for money. One day, Xiu told M that she just found out about her grandmother, Meng Ju (Usa Semkhum) had end-stage cancer but only came to know after Meng Ju fell.

M, who initially didn't care, started thinking after seeing his cousin, Mui (Tontawan Tantivejakul) who inherited his grandfather's house for taking care of his grandfather towards the end of his life. Departing from that, M went on to take the initiative to take care of Meng Ju's grandmother in his house - in the hope of getting an inheritance.

Meng Ju, who was used to living alone, was initially not happy with M's presence. Over time, M's presence made it easier for Meng Ju's life, who was still working until various conflicts began to appear in front of Meng Ju and M.

How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies from Thailand is very easy for viewers to accept. As fellow Asian countries, the story is very close to our daily lives. Those who have lived with grandparents or grandparents certainly know that often grandchildren in the family are involved to take care of their grandparents.

Some scenes remind us of families ranging from family members with different fates, helping to sell, girls who often help parents, to family conflicts that occur because of money.

It's not a Thai film if you don't explore the comedy side. Pat managed to present comedy bits that weren't excessive but still supported the story.

The story is also running thanks to the development of his character that he feels. M, who is told as a lazy person, began to change his attitude after staying at Meng Ju's grandmother's house. Grandma Meng Ju, who initially felt indifferent and firm, began to pay attention to M.

Rows of moments of closeness M and Meng Ju began to turn into emotion in the third round. The film began to carry piano instruments that tended to be sad to support the conflict between M and Meng Ju. The round was finally able to turn the audience's laughter full of emotion.

It's not difficult to like this film. Sincerity of the story without the impression of defamation or the city of who is older or who is young-all have a point of view in the family. This film reminds us of the importance of a family that will always be there for us until our lifetime ends.
