JAKARTA - After airing in his home country, the film Not Friends finally visited Indonesia to be watched by Indonesian film lovers. This film is Atta Hemwadee's debut work which became Thailand's representative for the category of the 96th International Feature at the Academy Award.

This film also brings together Anthony Buisseret and Thitiya Jirapornsilp after both of them made their acting debuts through a film called You & Me & Me in 2023. The story with the theme of coming of age has the premise of friendship and a film world that is close to our lives.

The film Not Friends tells the story of Pae (Anthony Buisseret), a student who has just moved to a school. There, he sits across from Joe (Pisitpol Ekaphongpisit) who is very cheerful and straightforward but Pae refuses to be friends with him.

After a tour, Pae witnessed Joe die after being hit by a car in front of the school. The incident made the school grieve, but in a week - the situation became as before. Pae and friends focus on preparing for college.

Pae himself had difficulties because he was asked by his father to continue his business, even though Pae really wanted to learn a film. Until one day, a senior announced a short film competition with a film lecture prize. Pae began to be brightened and participated in the competition using the story of the late Joe.

The plan was actually welcomed by the school and Joe's family well. Bokeh (Thitiya Jirapornsilp) came and claimed to be Pae's sports friend during junior high school. The two of them started working on the short film with the aim of giving Joe their last gift.

However, over time, Pae and Bokeh began to find a number of things they didn't know about Joe and questioned their true friendship with Joe.

Not Friends started the story dynamically, until the middle of the story was wrapped with a sub plot that was sewn and developed from the main story. Spectators are advised to continue to listen to what happened to Joe and Pae because they are the main thread of the story.

At first the story focused on the concept of making Joe's film, but after a while, the story began to focus on Bokeh, Joe, and several other characters. The story is getting slower but this actually makes the audience get to know the character better.

If you are a film connoisseur, you may really enjoy a comedy reference about the film in Not Friends.

The comedy's transition to the drama is also impressive because of the unusual shooting of the scene. The moments when Pae, Bokeh, and his friends made a film about Joe that became the highlight of this story.

Anthony Buisseret and Thitiya Jirapornslip played well after being duet in their first film. Visual and slick colors are also complementary to the story of Not Friends which is even more touching towards the end of the story.
