Condolences For The Death Of Matthew Perry, Friends Player: We Are Family

JAKARTA - Two days after the news of Matthew Perry's death, Friends players released a joint statement shared today, Tuesday, October 31. Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer made a joint statement to PEOPLE.

We are all so devastated by Matthew's departure. We are more than just serial cast. We are family,' that's the statement they shared.

"There's a lot to say, but right now we're taking the time to process this mourning time. Over time, we'll say more when we can," he said.

"For now, our thoughts and love are with our friends and friends, and everyone who loves him around the world," the statement was signed by Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc, and Schwimmer.

Prior to the players, several production teams including creator Friends wrote joint statements on social media.

"We are shocked and saddened by the death of our friend Matthew. It doesn't seem possible. All we can say is that we are grateful to have him as part of our lives. He is a brilliant talent," said creators Friends, Marta Kauffman and David Crane.

"Klise says an actor brings their own role to life, but in Matthew's case, there's no other word. From the first we heard he played Chandler Bing, no one else we thought of," they said.

Actress Maggie Wheeler, who plays Janice, Chandler Bing's lover, also paid tribute to the actor.

The world will miss you Matthew Perry. The happiness you bring to many people will always be alive. I am grateful for all the creative moments we share," wrote Maggie Wheeler.

In an interview, Matthew Perry revealed how his friends in the Friends series helped him get through his addiction period. Perry says like a penguin where when one of them feels sick, the other will wait for him to walk.

Matthew Perry was found dead on Saturday, October 28 at his home in Los Angeles. He drowned in a hot tub and found no signs of murder or drugs. He died at the age of 54.
