JAKARTA - A series of horror films will enliven the end of October which is synonymous with Halloween celebrations. One of them is the film Five Nights at Freddy's which is an adaptation of well-known video games among game lovers.

Like the video game, this film focuses on the story of a pizza restaurant called Freddy Fazbear's Pizza which has the mascot, the animatronic bear Freddy Fazbear. The animatronic dolls, which are characteristic of not missing from the film version.

This film was directed by Emma Tammi after experiencing a director change. The film project produced by Blumhouse has also been initiated for a long time but its release has only been presented this year.

Five Nights at Freddy's tells the story of Mike (Josh Hutcherson), a teenager who has trouble sleeping every night. He is assisted by drugs and natural voice recordings so that he can sleep well.

Mike has a younger brother named cap (Piper Rubio) who is suspected of having hallucinations because he often plays with friends who Mike cannot see.

Mike also struggled to find a job after he was fired from his previous job. However, he had to struggle to find a new job to keep him under custody from unwanted parties. Then, Mike finds a job as a night guard at an abandoned restaurant: Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria.

Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria's restaurant is no longer operating, but Mike is only assigned to monitor and see not to let anyone enter. The strangeness in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria has been felt since the first night, when Mike heard a foreign voice.

Later, Mike just realized that the animatronic doll in the restaurant could move on its own and endanger anyone who enters.

Five Nights at Freddy's film begins with a narrative commonly used in other horror films. The scene that opens as well as the key to the climax scene has been leaked in this film.

The audience did not make sympathy for Mike's character. The main character who has problems and is living a life that has kept the narrative flat, but the excitement started when Mike started working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria.

The figure of Vanessa, played by Elizabeth Lail, is also not enough to color Mike's adventures. He looks flat and accidentally always comes when Mike needs help or just clues.

If you say horror, Five Nights at Freddy's is actually tame because there is no scene that really shows the horror. For example, the animatronic doll threatens, but they use more time than horror on the doll's expression.

On the other hand, the production design is very attractive and full of details. This makes the audience continue to focus on various supporting details such as selection of light colors, security guard cameras, or the movements of the four dolls: Freddy Fazbear, totaling, Chica, and Foxy.

Five Nights at Freddy's film may be made to target teenagers given the rating of this film 13+. Too many sub-plots to convey so that the focus on the pizza restaurant is just shifted.

However, the animatronic dolls liven up the atmosphere of tension every time they see someone entering the restaurant.
