Metallica Won The Top Five Position Of Vinyl Sales In The US

JAKARTA - Metallica secured the top five positions on the Billboard sales chart, thanks to the vinyl reissues of their six albums at Walmart.

This achievement made Metallica the first artist to claim all the top 5 slots on the vinyl sales chart since the chart debuted in 2011.

The five Metallica vinyls are:

01. Ride The Lightning (1984)

02.Metallica (1991)

03. ... And Justice For All (1988)

04.Kill 'Em All (1983)

05.Master Of Puppets (1986)

These five albums, plus Hardwired ... To Self-Destruct, hit Walmart store shelves on January 29.

In 2014, Metallica remastered and re-released their old catalog on their Blackened Records label.

In a 2018 interview with Classic Rock, drummer Lars Ulrich revealed why vinyl is so important to him.

"I still have all the old Metallica albums," he said. "I still listen to it occasionally. I'd be lying to you if I said there wasn't a nostalgic note to all those albums."

Meanwhile, in a 2017 interview with Red Bull, Hetfield also talked about his appreciation of vinyl.

"We grew up on and like vinyl," he said. "It's an experience, an event. It's real: you hold the album, take it from the sleeve; put the needle in the groove."

"About six months ago, I was in LA visiting some high school friends and we were just sitting around listening to vinyl… songs like Kansas," he continued.
