Kimo Stamboel Becomes KKN Film Director In Dancing Village 2: Badarawuhi

JAKARTA - MD Pictures officially announced the director for the film KKN in Penari 2: Badarawuhi Village. Manoj Punjabi as the producer shared the news through a video uploaded via social media.

"This is what you've been waiting for, KKN in Penari 2: Badarawuhi Village. There's still a lot you need to know," said Manoj Punjabi through his video.

"What is the targeting? Ready to be filmed, Kim?" said Manoj, who pointed to Kimo Stamboel who was sitting beside him.

Kimo Stamboel, wearing a red shirt, was seen welcoming Manoj Punjabi's question and agreeing to the sign of the cooperation.

"Ready, sir. Let's do it," replied Kimo Stamboel smiling.

KKN di Desa Penari 2: Badarawuhi pertama kali diumumumkan pada awal bulan ini. Melalui sebuah video, Manoj Punjabi terlihat berbicara dengan seorang pria dan menjelaskan cerita KKN belum selesai.

Then, the video ends with a sequel to the KKN in Penari Village which will be shown in theaters next year.

"KKN di Desa Penari 2. Badarawuhi. Lebaran 2024 hanya di bioskop," begitu tulisan dalam video tersebut.

With this news, Awi Suryadi certainly did not direct the sequel. The film KKN in Penari 2: Badarawuhi Village became Manoj Punjabi's collaboration with Kimo Stamboel after the film Sewu Dino which was released in the first half of this year.

Apart from the director, the production house has not announced a synopsis or player joining the project.

The film KKN in Penari Village was adapted from a thread on Twitter which had gone viral on social media. This film tells the story of an incident experienced by a group of students undergoing a Real Work Lecture (KKN) in East Java.

Nur (Tissa Biani), Widya (Adinda Thomas), Ayu (Aghniny Haque), Bima (Achmad Megantara), Anton (Calvin Jeremy), and Wahyu (Fajar Nugraha) underwent a KKN in a village led by Pak Prabu (Kiki Narendra).

Airing in 2022, KKN in Penari Village will be the most successful Indonesian film of all time with 10 million viewers.

Meanwhile, the film KKN in Penari 2: Badarawuhi Village will be shown in theaters in Lebaran 2024.
