JAKARTA - One resident's house located on the riverbank of Swadaya street, East Pejaten, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta was damaged by landslides.

As reported by Antara, Friday, February 5, the Head of Group C of the East Pejaten Self-Initiate Post, South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency (Damkar), Ahmad Sani, said that landslides occurred on Thursday night at 20:15 Western Indonesia Time, when the rainfall was high.

"Landslides hit the house of Rojali, tearing down the kitchen and bathroom," said Ahmad Sani.

He said the owner of the house and his entire family managed to escape from the house when the back building of his house collapsed due to the movement of the land.

When the incident happened, it was raining. The owner of the house heard a rumble at the back of his house which is located at Swadaya street RT 12/RW 10, East Pejaten Sub-district, Pasar Minggu.

According to Sani, the position of the house is on the edge of a cliff close to the Ciliwung River. The condition is that the back of the house is plunged into the riverbed.

"During the day, the owner already had a feeling that his house would collapse on the back. That feeling seemed to have come true, fortunately, the owner and other residents managed to escape, so there were no casualties," said Sani.

The position behind Rojali's house is on a cliff near the Ciliwung River, landslides are not only due to high rainfall but also unstable soil.

Currently, the front of the house, which consists of the living room and front room, is still safe, but the owner of the house chose to evacuate to anticipate further landslides.

"Mr. Rojali temporarily evacuated to a neighbor's house," said Sani.

According to Sani, this morning the officers of the East Pejaten Urban Public Infrastructure Provider (PPSU) helped clean up the rubble of the buildings that collapsed due to landslides.

Previously, a similar incident also occurred on Sharin street, RT 08/RW02, Srengseng Sawah Sub-district, Jagakarsa, on Wednesday, February 3, at night, damaging the plaster supports and blocking the flow of tributaries in the area.

It took two weeks for the Water Resources Office to repair the plaster that had collapsed due to a landslide.
