Exclusive Fadly Faisal Conquers Insecure Because Cadel During Acting

JAKARTA - Fadly Faisal has slowly begun to strengthen his name as one of the young actors. Judging from the films that have starred so far, the 23-year-old man seems increasingly trusted to play a bigger role.

Most recently, Fadly Faisal played in a teen drama genre film entitled Galaxies. He plays a high school student named Abraham. Fadly sees Abraham's character as a teenager who has a strong character.

"My character as Abraham, he is a tough person and can be said to be cunning too," said Fadly Faisal when met by VOI in Antasari, South Jakarta recently.

Different from other characters in the Galaxies film, Abraham is a student who still upholds the value of seniority. However, he has his own purpose in what he believes.

"If it's like in high school life, Abraham really believes in seniority. He uses his power to make it easier to get what he wants from his juniors," said Fadly.

Fuji Utami's older brother admits that he is satisfied with the character he got this time. Since receiving an offer for casting, Abraham's character has become an attraction for Fadly himself, in addition to his interesting story.

"This case I was offered as Abraham, then I read the story and I see this is very interesting. This Abraham character is also a character that I have never played before," said Fadly.

Like the Galaxies film adapted from the novel Poppi Pertiwi with the same title, Fadly sees the story of the Galaxy and other characters who already have a lot of fans.

I also read the story, there are also some who relate to my high school atmosphere at that time. And I see, this galaxy, the readers are crazy, the readers are millions more, so it makes me even more interested in playing in this film," said Fadly Faisal.

It didn't stop there, Fadly was also satisfied with the cast ranks who were his co-stars. With the existing team, he believes that the Galaxies film will receive a good response for Indonesian film lovers.

"Of course there are other casts like Bryan Domani and Janaya Abraham who I have known before. I've worked with them, and it's really fun," said Fadly.

"Look at the director and the production team also makes me sure that this film will be something big," he added.

Fadly revealed that he had thought of choosing another character who was included in the school gang members. However, he feels more suitable to play Abraham who is the head of the Paskibraka (Posaka Flag-raising Troop) team.

"I thought about it (playing other characters), but I feel that my body is a paskibra child too, my haircut is also a really old child, and I'm more suitable there," said Fadly.

Not only about appearances, Fadly also feels that Abraham has a distinctive character that he likes. Even though he is not a child who likes to fight, Abraham does not shrink his guts when dealing with Ravispa's gang, who is known as the school's ruler.

"When the scene of the fight, you can see it in the trailer, that's when I hit the other one, they were seven and there was no fear at all for this Abraham," said Fadly Faisal.

"Yes, Abraham is not afraid at all even though his opponent is seven at a time. There I really like it, because Abraham's character is really strong. He can't stop who he is fighting, even though his opponent is used to fighting," he continued.

However, it is undeniable that the role as the head of the school's post-graduate team is a burden for Fadly. He felt that there were several things that had the potential to make him judged by the audience through minor mistakes.

"The difficulty is that there is a fear of wrongness in the line, respect and all kinds. It's pretty good homework too," he said.

Therefore, he tries at all costs so that every scene he does can be perfect. Fadly told how he still asked to be corrected by extras who are a member of the paskibra in real life.

"But thank God I think I did well, and I asked a lot of post-exemptive children," said Fadly.

"Incidentally, the extrast was really a paskibra's son who shared the flag at the mayor's office, so I could ask them questions, and ask them directly on set," he continued.

Meanwhile, Fadly Faisal started his career in the entertainment world through modeling. Even so, he had already prepared himself to become an actor when he was still a model.

"Actually, Siskini for the world of acting has been around from the start, when I became a model, I had decided to take it to acting. When I became a model, I really got it to advertising models," he said.

Before becoming an actor, Fadly Faisal admitted that he was afraid of dialogue. Because of the cadel, he felt he could not say the dialogue perfectly.

"In the advertisement, I can still handle it, because there I don't have a dialogue, I don't need to talk. What makes it difficult for me to act because I have to talk, I have to open my mouth and speak clearly. That's my main challenge, "said Fadly.

In fact, Fadly admitted that his decade was one thing that made him insecure for a long time. When doing the scenes of the rows in the film Galaxies, he has to fight more to be able to pronounce every dialogue perfectly.

"If the cadel was actually an insecure for a long time, but over time my cadel started to disappear a little bit," said Fadly.

"And the severity of shooting for the Galaxy was during the fasting month, my throat was dry, so saying'move' was quite difficult, there was a load," he added.

Fadly admitted that it was very difficult while filming. In the midst of fasting that he was fasting at that time, he had to fight extra to do the scenes well.

Over time, Fadly further established himself as an actor. He also feels that he has shortcomings if he continues to be a model.

"I decided to act because in the model, my height is not very high. I often fashion shows, girls look taller than me because they use high heels," said Fadly.

"So, the male model is usually 185 cm to 187 cm high, so I feel that if I'm not in the model, I feel that I can explore more as an actor," he continued.

For Fadly Faisal, being an actor allows him to explore himself further. He can become many people with different characters through the roles played.

Talking about inspiration in acting, Fadly said that he had many senior actors who were idolized, one of whom was Vino G Bastian.

"If I'm more into idolizing, there are many Indonesian actors who I idolize. When I watch Buya Hamka, I'm really a fan of Kak Vino G Bastian, it's really crazy (acting), really cool he is. When he played it, I felt like a really cool person, and yes I idolize him, "he said.

In the future, Fadly also hopes to be able to play many characters. He wants to explore himself with extreme roles and strong character.

"In the future, I want to try all the characters, I want to try a character that seems really quiet or really crazy or really angry or really good," said Fadly.

"Yes, I want to play all the characters. So far I feel that there are still very few characters that I play, so hopefully there will be more exploration," he continued.

Fadly also wants to compete acting with his idol in the world of actors, including Reza Rahadian and Vino G Bastian.

"There is a lot for Indonesia, with Reza Rahadian really wants it, and Kak Vino really wants it. Anyway, there are a lot of things in my head," concluded Fadly Faisal.
