"I, as the National Director and as the owner of the Miss Universe Indonesia permit, was not involved at all and never knew, ordered, asked for or allowed anyone who played a role and participated in the process of organizing Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 to commit violence or sexual harassment through body checking," said Poppy Capella.
Shortly after issuing the rebuttal, the Miss Universe Organization decided to cancel the license held by PT Capella Swastika Karya and cut ties with Poppy Capella.
