JAKARTA - A person who has not been able to work according to expectations does not mean that this is a dead end to achieving success. Don't be pessimistic and give up can't achieve success with this situation.

"In fact, not everyone can work or choose what (learning) departments are expected, right, and that doesn't really mean a dead end for someone can be successful," said an adult clinical psychologist Tiara Puspita, M.Psi., quoted from ANTARA, Monday, May 1.

In some cases, a person may have good skills in the work he is currently doing but in fact the job is not in accordance with his interests.

Given interests related to motivation, said Tiara, it will be difficult for this person if he has to stay for a long period of time in the field of work or companies that do not match his interests.

If a person feels that his current job is not in line with interest, according to Tiara, this can be met by re-ectioning whether he does have the need and desire to learn a new and in-demand work area.

Interest in the new field can then be used as motivation to achieve success. Although a person must return to the learning stage from scratch, Tiara believes that the person's success can be achieved.

"When there is a need and desire to learn material or a certain field of work, he can succeed, really. So it depends on how someone takes care of the needs, decisions he makes, and how to live it in the future," said Tiara.

Learning from this case, Tiara also reminded the importance of undergoing an interest and talent test before actually entering the world of work. In fact, this test is recommended to be carried out as early as possible from a young age.

"So that when working later, you may not need to catch up or don't need to be too attached to being able to develop the potentials they have compared to someone who learns it from scratch or maybe something that doesn't match his interests," said the University of Indonesia graduate psychologist.

However, he reminded, even someone who has talent cannot necessarily transform into an expert in his (expertise) field if this talent is not trained and honed optimally.

Skills can be formed through the learning process, either through formal or non-formal education such as training or courses, as well as related experiences in certain fields.

"Something that is learned through education or school or course-course or training outside of formal education can actually train our skills. Also with our experience in our work or daily work," said Tiara.
