2021 Grammy Awards Peak Night Postponed To 14 March
Grammy Awards (Recording Academy)

JAKARTA - The peak night for the 2021 Grammy Awards which is usually held in January has been postponed to March 14.

Through an official statement from the Grammys, Harvey Mason Jr. as president of the Recording Academy, Jack Sussman (vice president), and Ben Winston (executive producer) gave a joint statement.

"After thoughtful conversations with healthcare professionals, hosts, and artists scheduled to perform, we reschedule the 63rd Grammy Awards for Sunday, March 14, 2021."

This delay is due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 in Los Angeles where hospitals are currently overwhelmed in handling patients and emergency rooms that have reached capacity.

In addition, according to guidelines from the government and local, the Grammy said postponing the event was the most correct thing.

"Nothing is more important than the health and safety of the people in the music community and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce these shows."

Closing its statement, the Grammys would like to thank all staff, vendors, artists, and nominees this year for their understanding and patience to work in the midst of such a difficult time.

Previously, the Grammy Awards event was scheduled to be held at the Staples Center, Los Angeles. Mason had promised an interesting performance from this year's Grammys but had to be delayed due to the pandemic.
