JAKARTA - The Legal Aid and Advocacy for the People (BBHAR) DPP PDI Perjuangan has sued Zulfan Lindan and PT Temukan Perspektif Indonesia as the company that oversees Total Politik to the South Jakarta District Court. This step was taken because the Press Council's recommendations regarding the reporting dispute had not been fully implemented.

The lawsuit was filed on June 23, 2026 with case number 712/Pdt.G/2026/PN JKT.SEL. Based on the South Jakarta District Court Case Tracking Information System (SIPP), Zulfan Lindan is listed as defendant I while PT Temukan Perspektif Indonesia as defendant II.

"We have gone through the dispute resolution mechanism through the Press Council. The Press Council has also given recommendations that must be implemented, but until this lawsuit is filed, the right of reply and the recommendations have not been fully implemented by Total Politik," said Abdul Rohman as a cadre and member of BBHAR PDIP to reporters, Thursday, July 16.

Rohman said BBHAR had first resolved the issue through the mechanism of the Press Council. However, the right of reply and recommendations that have been issued have not been fully implemented by Total Politik.

"Because we have taken the ethical mechanism, but the recovery of information that is detrimental to the PDI Perjuangan has not been fully carried out, we then use legal rights by filing a civil lawsuit," he said.

In the process of resolving the dispute at the Press Council, BBHAR also obtained information that Total Politik had not been verified as a press company.

"In the process of resolving the dispute, we also obtained information that Total Politik has not been registered or verified as a press company at the Press Council. However, from the beginning we have always put forward the mechanism of the Press Council as a form of good faith," said Rohman.

Furthermore, BBHAR PDIP denied all allegations made by Zulfan Lindan in the Total Politics broadcast. One of them, about PDIP being the mastermind of the riots in August 2025.

The statement was also linked to claims that PDI Perjuangan General Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri had made a special request to President Prabowo Subianto regarding Wisma Yaso and Rp200 billion in funds.

According to BBHAR, the issue regarding the rights of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soekarno, cannot be positioned as Megawati's personal request, but must be seen as part of the state's respect for the proclamator and the first president of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Statements that place PDI Perjuangan as if it were the mastermind or party behind the August riots are misguided, unfounded, and very detrimental to the party's good name. Such serious accusations should not be made without evidence and verification," said Rohman.

The dispute had previously been processed by the Press Council through a Complaint Resolution Letter Number 596/DP/V/2026 dated May 5, 2026. BBHAR then sent a reply letter through letter Number 016/EX/DPP/V/2026 on May 12, 2026.

Because he considered that the recommendations had not been fully implemented, BBHAR again complained about the issue. The Press Council then issued a letter Number 730/DP/K/VI/2026 dated June 4, 2026 which ordered Total Politik to air the right of reply no later than 2x24 hours after receiving the letter.

In the letter, the Press Council also asked Total Politik to make an apology to BBHAR and the public and link the right of reply to the content in question.

Total Politics then conveyed to the Press Council that his party had included a right of reply through an article entitled "PDIP Denies Zulfan Lindan's Claim about Megawati's Special Request to Prabowo" and uploaded a YouTube content entitled "Zulfan Lindan Answers PDIP about Megawati's Request to Prabowo: I've explained it to Ahmad Basarah!" on February 28, 2026.

However, in the subsequent assessment through letter Number 858/DP/K/VI/2026 dated June 24, 2026, the Press Council stated that Total Politik still has to implement all recommendations in full, including apologizing to BBHAR and the public.

The Press Council also emphasized that the matter could only be declared complete when Total Politik had included a right of reply, apologized, and implemented all the recommendations contained in the Letter of Settlement of Complaint Number 596/DP/V/2026 in full.

"Media Teradu totalpolitik.com is obliged to implement all decisions of the Press Council, because in principle the decision/recommendation of the Press Council is a unanimous and complete decision so that it must be implemented in its entirety," read the letter from the Press Council.
