Giving A Valentine's Day Is One Form Of Love

JAKARTA - Love language, which is now being talked about by the younger generation, is a way for someone to express their love and love for others, it can be for their partners, friends, parents, or children and relatives.

There are at least five types of love language that each person has, including physical touch (physical contact), words of affirmation (estimation words), quality time (quality time), receiving/giving gig (receive/giving gifts), and act of service.

The giving of chocolate on Valentine's Day is included in the language of love giving gifts. According to Clinical Psychologist Irma Gustianamtra from the University of Indonesia's Applied Psychology Institute, this love language can also be caused by past habits. The warmth in the home really determines the form of a person expressing his love language as an adult.

"It's possible that when he was little he needed to be given words of praise, but it turned out that his parents did not give him that much, so when he was an adult the manifestation was sought," added Irma, quoted from ANTARA, February 14.

For example, according to Irma, for someone in the language of love words of affirmation, the sensation of happiness when they get praise will feel more deeply, as if the needs they have wanted for a long time.

However, it turns out that the language of love is not always caused by wounds in childhood, but it could also be because of the opposite. People with the need for love that was met at home as a child will also shape how he expresses love.

"It can also be that when I was little, it turns out that these needs were always fulfilled by both parents, so that when Irma becomes automatic in her head because of habits, when she grows up she is in such condition," said Irma.

For this reason, Irma said it is important for everyone to understand the love language of those closest to them is also themselves. "With this, we will become more sensitive, tolerant, and understanding of each other," said Irma.
