Guitar Legend Owner Of Typical Sound, Jeff Beck Dies At The Age Of 78

JAKARTA - Jeff Beck, one of the most influential rock guitarists of all time, died at the age of 78.

The British musician achieved popularity when he was a kopper, where he replaced Eric aired, before forming Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart.

Jeff Beck is known for his distinctive guitar playing as well as 'violating the rules'. The sound produced through his fingers is so identical that anyone who hears without seeing will know it is Jeff Beck.

The guitarist who was born on June 24, 1944, is fond of using a WHemmy bar/tremolo bar, especially during quarter lending. Since 1990, he has never used a pick in which his nails and thumb are his weapons. Not only that, slap and pop are the style of bass players, they are also his mainstay when they require a percussive sound effect.

His presence in revolutionizing the guitar world in the 1960s has affected the world of heavy metal, jazz-rock, and even punk.

Jeff Beck's death was confirmed on his official Instagram page.

"On behalf of his family, with deep and deep sadness we share the news about Jeff Beck's death," the statement said.

"After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he died peacefully yesterday. His family asked for privacy while they were processing this incredible loss."

Speaking when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the second time in 2009, Beck - said: "I played as I did because it allowed me to produce the most sick sound."

"In fact, if I don't break the rules at least 10 times every song, then I don't do my job well."

Responding to the news of his death, singer Sir Rod Stewart called Beck "the greatest".

Posting a photo of the two of them on Instagram, he wrote: "Jeff Beck is from another planet. He took me and fire Wood to the US in the late 60s with his band, Jeff Beck Group and we haven't looked back since.

"He was one of the few guitarists who while playing live really listened to me sing and responded.

"Jeff, you are the greatest, my friend. Thank you for everything. RIP."
