Selective Outrage, Comedy Stand-up Chris Rock Will PLAY On Netflix

JAKARTA - Chris Rock's stand-up comedy event titled Selective Outrage will air on Netflix on March 4, 2023. Quoted from the Hollywood Reporter, Tuesday, December 27, the show was Chris' second special stand-up for Netflix and aired for almost a year after he was slapped by actor Will Smith at the Oscars.

Selection Outage, the second special comedian for streamers after Tambourine 2018, will be broadcast live on March 4 at 7 p.m. US time. As part of the announcement, Netflix has also released posters and teaser trailers for the platform's first stand-up event.

Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedy voices of our generation, said Netflix vp stand-up and comedy format Robbie Praw.

"We are delighted that the whole world can watch Chris Rock's comedy live and be part of Netflix's history. This will be an unforgettable moment and we are very honored that Chris brought this torch," he added as quoted by ANTARA.

This stand-up specialty has the potential to mark the first time Chris Rock has widely discussed slaps by Will Smith during the 2022 Oscar ceremony, a moment that led him to refuse to file charges but resulted in Smith being barred from attending an annual Academy event for a decade.

Chris Rock has not directly commented on the slap in public, although he has reportedly mentioned it during his various stand-up performances across the country over the past year.
