JAKARTA - Early 2020, the Brazilian thrash metal group Sepultura launched SepulQuarta. This is a weekly event that displays the history of Sepultura's musical journey with a question-and-answer session with fans and their music playing during the COVID-19 quarantine.
Sepultura's musical collaborations with members of Megadeth, Testament, Anthrax, System Of A Down, Trivium, and Sacred Reich will be released in full album format next year.
"It's so cool that SepulQuarta allows us to do this. We have a total of 57 guests. That's an incredible number," Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser said quoted from Blabbermouth, Monday, December 21.
"We started it on April 22nd and we did it every week for months, then we did it every 15 days. And it was an amazing experience. We played 28 songs. That's over three hours of concerts. It's amazing. Really," Kisser. connect.
According to Kisser, SepulQuarta's album will not be like any previous album Sepultura has released. This collaboration is both very interesting and unique.
"This is something that (was created) maybe just because of the quarantine situation, the lockdown. Imagine we make an album like that under normal circumstances; that's not possible," added Kisser.
The cool thing about this collaboration, added Kisser, is how excited everyone was to be a part of the project and so excited about playing Sepultura's material.
In this project, Sepultura played with people who influenced them and bands influenced by Sepultura. There are Brazilian musicians; pop musicians, and of course metal musicians. In particular, the new version of Ratamahatta, Kisser acknowledges, is very unique and different.
"We don't see any limit. We use two drums (on some songs), we use two basses on a number of songs, three guitars and two vocals - not any boundaries - and we managed to make it," concluded Kisser.
As additional information, apart from Kisser, Sepultura's current formation is equipped with Derrick Green (vocals), Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. (bass), and Eloy Casagrande (drums).
