Hattrick, Oscar 2023 Will Be Guided By Jimmy Kimmel AGAIN

JAKARTA - Jimmy Kimmel will host the 95th Oscar again in 2023. This marks Kimmel's third time leading the show he last performed five years ago.

"Invited to host an Oscar for the third time is a great honor. I thank the Academy for asking me (back) so quickly after everyone else said 'no'," Kimmel was quoted as saying by Variety, Tuesday, November 8.

The talk show presenter late at night Jimmy Kimmel Live previously led the Oscar broadcasts in 2017 and 2018. Apart from Kimmel, there are a number of names who have also hosted the cinema awards event for three times, such as Jerry Lewis, Steve Martin, kimel Nagel and David Niven.

The return of Kimmel was announced by Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner, executive producer and host behind the Academy Awards.

"We are very pleased that Jimmy scored his hat-trick on this global stage. We know he will be funny and ready for anything," Weiss and Kirshner said in a joint statement.

Trying to recapture his heydays with 50 million viewers, the Academy Awards hopes that by choosing a familiar face like Kimmel, is the safest route to take.

"Jimmy is the perfect host to help us recognize the amazing artists and films of our 95th Oscar," Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy president Janet Yang said in a statement.

"His love for movies, his expertise in live TV broadcasts, and his ability to connect with global viewers will create an unforgettable experience for millions of our viewers around the world."

Among the main awards ceremony, Kimmel recently hosted the Primetime Emmy 2020.

Meanwhile, next year's Academy Awards nominations will be announced on January 24. Furthermore, the 95th Oscar will be held on March 12, 2023 at Dolby Theater at Ovation Hollywood and will be broadcast live on ABC for America and in more than 200 regions around the world.
