JAKARTA - The 2022 Indonesian Journalist Film Festival (FFWI) will assess 123 film titles. The judging is carried out in two stages, namely by the Committee and the Jury. Panita will select films that have been shown from September 1, 2021, to September 30, 2022 in theaters and OTT (Over The Top).

The FFWI committee grouped 123 film titles into four genres, namely Drama, Comedy, Horror and Match. According to Yan, there are many encouraging things from the development of Indonesian film production. For example, although the pandemic period has not fully receded, the number of action films produced in 2022 has doubled compared to last year.

In addition, this year several regional films have also been assessed, although some of these films have not been shown in theaters. For example, the film Before, Now & Then (Nana) which is Sundanese and has been shown on OTT since early August. Likewise, production films from the South Sulawesi area. Meanwhile, the film Lara Ati, which is fully Javanese, will be shown in Jakarta cinemas starting September 15, 2022.

In the first stage, an assessment will be carried out by the Awal Jury, consisting of 31 journalists from several cities in Indonesia. The Initial Jury was chaired by Irawan Kintoko and secretary Ratih Nugraini.

The initial jury will determine the seeds of the four film genres, namely Comedy, Drama, Match and Horror. The superior results will be announced in mid-October 2022, which is between 15 and 20 October 2022. The superior results of the preliminary study of the Awal Jury will then be judged again to determine the winner by the Final Jury consisting of 9 journalists.

The Final Jury chaired by Hilmi Faiq and secretary dr. Daniel Irawan, will determine the 9 winning categories of each genre, namely the Actor and the Main Actress, Actor and Supporting Actress, Screenwriter, Editor/Editor, DOP/Camera Manager, Director, and Best Film.

And each winner will be given the Mountan Cup. FFWI winners will be announced at the FFWI Peak event which will be held on October 28, 2022.

The Chairperson of the 2022 FFWI judging Division, Yan Widjaya, explained, actually in the period 1 September 2021 to 30, 2022, there are 124 Indonesian film titles that claim. Each consists of 98 films showing in theaters, and 26 films in OTT. "Meanwhile, a film entitled Islamic Boarding School produced by the Film Country, and directed by Salahudin Siregar, turned out to be canceled due to technical problems. The film was actually scheduled to be shown in theaters on August 4, said Yan Widjaya when contacted Friday, September 9.

Likewise, Sri Asih's superhero film cannot be assessed in this year's FFWI, because it will only be shown in theaters on October 6, 2022, while the limit for showing cinema films requires FFWI until September 30, 2022. That way "Sri Asih" will be assessed by FFWI next year.
