Adaptation Of Mumun Film From Sinetron, Rizal Mantovani In Charge Of The Chances Of The Second Sequel

JAKARTA - Director Rizal Mantovani admitted that he was not very difficult when adapting the soap opera So Pocong became a version of the film called Mumun. The reason is, when he got a project to work on the film, Rizal said the script had been made well by the story team.

"Fortunately, I'm not in the story team. I've got it from them, there's a team with a scriptwriter too. I said they were very good at making all the stories in the soap opera a story that was finished in two hours," Rizal said as quoted by ANTARA, August 29.

In addition, Rizal also shared that the players, including Acha Septriasa, who is the main character, are very good actors who make their work easier.

According to Rizal, Acha is so professional that he is able to explore his character well and always contributes to expressing his opinion about his character.

"There are questions that I don't think exist. Like 'Mas Rizal, if Mimin is like this, isn't the Mumun going to be like this?'. Finally we talked to the writer," said Rizal.

"Acha was so strong in getting into the character that he asked questions that we ended up changing the script, because it was a bit wrong if the character was like this, he didn't do that," he continued.

It is known that the soap opera Jadi Pocong, which is the idea of the Mumun film, is a popular soap opera by Mandra which aired in the 2000s. In order to remain relevant to today's audience, Rizal also made Mumun more modern than the soap opera version.

"The story is still, the point is still, the characters are the same. But I tried to bring this from 20 years ago to the current era. For example, there is a pinjol (online loan), that's something very new, there is no era. We think there must be something that people now feel," said Rizal.

When asked if there was a possibility to make a sequel to the Mumun film, Rizal said he still didn't know about it and would still see the plans of Dee Company as the production house.

"I don't know yet. This is indeed an open ending, yes, but I don't know yet, I don't know, I don't know Pak Dheeraj's plan (produser)," he concluded.
