The Panturas Open A New Era With The Dragon Burst Ballad

JAKARTA - The independent band from Bandung, The Panturas, will soon release their second album. They started by releasing the song Balada Semburan Naga on Friday, November 13, 2020.

This surf rock band relies on 60s garage rock combined with eccentric lyrics. In the middle of the song, The Panturas inserts music such as the Mandarin kung fu film adding to the excitement of this song.

Balada Semburan Naga tells of a man named Topan who asks permission to date from the woman's parents. However, his parents even teased him because of the man's social status. The two men also quarreled and berated each other.

The lyrics are humorous, made like Betawi-style chatter. The music video released by The Panturas also shows an eccentric side with a predominance of red as the title, Balada Semburan Naga.

"We are more exploring strange sound patterns here. No longer only four people who played guitar, bass and drums, but began to dare to use other instruments such as keyboards, tehyan (Betawi violin) and synthesizers. Everything can be done carefully thanks to producer Lafa Pratomo, "said bass player Bagus 'Gogon' Patria as quoted from a press release received by VOI.

If previously they worked on music independently, this time they hooked up a producer to explore a wider range of music.

In Balada Semburan Naga, The Panturas invited Adipati, the vocalist of The Kuda to sing the lyrics voiced by the character Topan.

Talking about the second album, The Panturas likens a ship that contains many people from various tribes and cultures. The music that will be present in the second album will be more diverse, with genres rockabilly, waltz, arabian, to Malay.
