JAKARTA - The pistol used by the late Sean Connery in the first James Bond film is the main attraction at a Hollywood auction next month.
The semi-automatic PP Walther gun, along with a smaller model, the PPK, became one of the most famous items from the first James Bond film.
The pistol is estimated to sell for between $ 150 and $ 200,000 at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills on Dec. 3, the auction house said.
The gun was used by Connery in the movie Dr. No. in 1962. The first James Bond actor on the big screen died last October 31 at the age of 90.
"This gun-wielding 007 silhouette will be the most iconic image of the James Bond franchise and one of the most recognizable pop culture references of all time," said Martin Nolan, executive director of Julien's Auctions, in a statement.
The pistol is the top item of the roughly 500 lots of Hollywood memorabilia which also includes the helmet Tom Cruise wore in Top Gun.
Apart from these two items, there is also the first dress worn by former US first lady Michelle Obama.
