'Rapunzel' Man With 2 Leg Hair: Make Women Jealous But Men Mock

JAKARTA - A man is nicknamed "real life Rapunzel" because of his long and beautiful hair. Cristiano Braga, from Brazil, has grown his hair up to 2 feet 2 inches for seven years. Although his hair drew a lot of positive comments, the 28-year-old was also often teased.

There were those who branded her as "an ugly woman," there were also some men who were worried that she would steal their boyfriends.

Cristiano has always liked long hair - but he didn't dare to grow it out until he reached his 20s.

"Even though I wanted long hair, I was embarrassed, because I was worried that I would be bullied at school," he revealed as quoted by the Daily Star, Wednesday, November 4.

“I started letting my hair grow out in 2012. I have no explanation for letting my hair grow; I looked in the mirror and decided to grow it out, I've always liked long hair…

“Said my grandmother, my desire to have long hair is because of my ancestors. My grandmothers were indigenous and had hair down to their feet. This may be something spiritual or cultural.

"It seems like my hair protects me from the bad things in the world, I feel much stronger and more confident."

Since letting his hair grow out, Cristiano has often been likened to a Disney princess. Some people think she looks like Rapunzel, others compare her to Ariel from The Little Mermaid, or Merida from Brave

"I've always been called Jesus, John Lennon, Jared Leto, Axl Rose, Ariel, Merida, Little Mermaid, Rapunzel, among other personalities and characters," he explained.

Although these comparisons don't seem to bother the Brazilian, he is uncomfortable with some of the comments made by strangers.

Some labeled her a "ugly woman," with some men even accusing her of trying to snatch their boyfriends.

“There was a time, when my hair grew, I was criticized; people call me woman, broom hair, scarecrow, they will cut my hair, they say I am ugly, weird, "Cristiano said.

"I get a lot more questions now; the weirdest question I get is whether I wear a wig, because my hair is so shiny.

Whenever someone approaches Cristiano, he feels a little embarrassed because that person always draws other people's attention to him. And even though it doesn't seem like it, he doesn't like to expose himself much.

"I am very surprised when someone says that my hair is better than theirs because it shows how low a person's self-esteem is and needs fixing," continued Cristiano.

"I was really sad when they asked me if I wanted to change into a woman because I have long hair, it shows that society doesn't accept differences."
