Initially An Affair, This Woman Is Now Happy To Live A Polyamorous Relationship

JAKARTA - A single mother dating a married man who claims to be separated. But then, he fell in love with the man and his wife.

Monica Sandoval (34) is now in a polyamorous relationship with Gilbert (35) both from New York, and Giselle Gomez (30), for five years. The three live happily with their five children - Jayvon (14), Anna (13), Jacob (12), Max (6) and Leon (4) - in Connecticut.

The three take turns sleeping with each other and the two women have separate bedrooms so Gilbert can choose to sleep wherever he wants. And they claim that odd situation is the secret to lasting happiness.

"Everyone asks about sex and yes, we have sex a lot, but we don't count it," said Monica, in her first exclusive interview reported by the Daily Star, Sunday, November 1. "We had a threesome and individuals and Giselle and I had our own room and Gilbert slept where he wanted.

"Gilbert and Giselle had a great time together and I had time with him and then we had a night together - that's how it works.

"Of course, guys will think he is the luckiest man in the world to have two women, but it takes a lot of time, patience, dedication and commitment to be in a relationship like this. It's not perfect but we are soul mates."

Monica shifts at Dunkin 'Donuts in Manhattan, New York, to help support her daughter, Anna, now 13, when she met Gilbert through a dating website.

When Gilbert takes Monica to a seafood restaurant on their first date, Gilbert says he is married but separated from his wife.

Monica immediately fell in love with the property manager. Like lightning in broad daylight, a month later, Gilbert admitted that he was still married to Giselle, the mother of his three children, including a newborn.

Monica is shocked, but is already in love with Gilbert. Finally, in January 2015, Gilbert introduced Monica to his hairdresser wife, Giselle. What is the response of the wife? Giselle accepts that her husband is dating someone new.

Later that month Gilbert and Giselle's youngest child, Max, were diagnosed with stage three liver cancer - hepatoblastoma. At that time, Max was only five months old.

Monica helps Giselle care for her baby while she is undergoing chemotherapy - but then brings the shocking news that she is pregnant with the baby she had with Gilbert.

"At first I didn't know how to tell Giselle, and she was very hurt," she said. "He's had a really hard time, but in the end he accepted it."

Luckily Max is recovering and now cancer-free, and Giselle was there to welcome baby Leon to the world when Monica gave birth in March 2016.

The two women end up getting romantically involved, and the three of them form a polyamory relationship, which Monica finds very satisfying.

"Giselle and I were just friends at first, nothing more than that, but I started to feel attracted to her, and there was a lot of emotion going on," explains Monica. "We started doing sexual things together. It was the first time for me, but it was fun."

However, Monica's family disapproved and kicked her out of the family home. Gilbert and Giselle then asked Monica to stay with them.

Gilbert and his two loyal lovers finally moved to Connecticut with their five children in December 2016 to start a new life together.

"If someone told me when I was a single mother that I would end up in a poly relationship with this super family, I would honestly ask what polyamory is," Monica concluded.
