Mardar is a freight forwarder who falls in love with Moudan (Zhou Xun). One day, his two partners, Lao B (Yao Anlian) and Xiao Hong (Nai An) plot a crime by involving Moudan as bait and demanding a ransom of 45 thousand Yuan.

Knowing that his life was only valued at 45 thousand Yuan, Moudan became furious and jumped off the river bridge. His body went limp. Mardar, who was shocked, jumped in to look for Moudan's body but could not find him.
