Once A Member Of The Dynamite Boyband, Theo Decius Pangaibali From Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi Is Now A Successful MUA

JAKARTA - Ten years ago, boybands in Indonesia were once highly revered. Various names of male singer groups appeared very quickly and filled various music shows. One of them, Dynamite Boyband which spawned the single I'm Falling in Love.

Unfortunately, that success didn't last long. That's what made one of the members of Dynamite, Theo Decius Pangaibali, change direction to become a Makeup Artist.

"I was in a boyband in 2011-2012, but before becoming a singer in a Boyband, I also used to be in the acting world, there were several soap operas in 2008-2010, but only for a few scenes. In the past, I was only extra talent in the BBB film together. Raffi Ahmad and other BBB members are now entering the world of makeup as MUA professionals from 2018," he said when contacted by VOI, Saturday, April 9.

Theo admitted that he missed singing with Dynamite. "I miss, especially my former boyband friends. Because in the past we used to often show off water inside and outside the city, so I definitely miss it. Now I'm in love with the world of make-up, but if in the future God wants us to sing again, I can do it single song," he said.

The decision to become an MUA, according to Theo, was difficult at first. Changing roles in front of the screen to behind the scenes is quite stressful.

"Before the beginning of the 2011 boyband career, in 2014 the Boyband had started to dim, so the management didn't continue the Boyband project anymore. Then my current manager Ipank, saw that I have another talent, namely drawing, so why not develop it as an MUA? " he recalled.

"The last few years the MUA procession has been promising. Why not try it, because the basics are drawings. People's faces are just imagined on canvas. It's just a matter of painting on people's faces," added Theo.

After having the intention to change direction, Theo began self-taught. "Use social media to learn. And become an MUA until now. I used to be the spotlight, who made up, kept it up, etc. Now being an MUA made me realize that working behind the scenes is hard, how do you show it?" the object looks perfect. Until the hands tremble at first, "he said.

However, his determination paid off. Recently, in this holy month of Ramadan, Theo was trusted to make up Reza Artamevia and Opick Tombo Ati. "They have a duet song for their newest single "Religi" entitled "You Are Not Alone" and I was entrusted with both make-up for the cover of the single. The experience was really exciting, this is the second time for Teh Reza's make-up. This is my first project to cover a single song. Proud to be a part of this big project," he said.

Theo hopes that in the future his career as MUA will be even more glorious. "I want what I'm doing now to grow bigger. More known to many people. Hopefully this talent that I have is useful for others, namely beautifying them. If God entrusts me to be successful, I can be a blessing to others. Hopefully it can be wider in reach work as MUA, so not only from Sabang to Merauke but also abroad," he concluded.
