JAKARTA - The horror film The Exorcism of God, starring Joseph Marcell and Will Beinbrink, can be legally watched via KlikFilm streaming starting March 11. This film tells the horrific events in the city of Nombre de Dios, Mexico, in 2003.

Told, Father Peter Williams (Will Beinbrink) trying to exorcise a demon named Balban who possessed the body of Magali (Iran Castillo). Even though Father Peter Williams is successful, Balban can read Peter's mind, who secretly has feelings for Magali.

Balban then played with Peter's feelings to commit a forbidden act against Magali, who was in a weak condition at that time. Since then, Peter felt pursued sin.

After 18 years, Peter is asked for help to exorcise the demon that entered the body of the imprisoned Esperanza (María Gabriela de Faría). "You're making me wet again Father Peter," said Esperanza the first time she met Peter. Turns out, the devil or demon that possessed Esperanza's body was Balban. Balban also uncovers the incident between Peter and Magali 18 years ago.

The Exorcism of God is based on a verse from the letter of the apostle Paul to the Church in Rome, chapter 7 verse 17. This verse is used as a guide to develop Peter William's character and the small world that surrounds him. Peter's heart is actually white. Failure to control oneself is used by Satan and then results in sin.

Observing a number of plots, it is clear that Santiago Fernández Calvete and Alejandro Hidalgo have extensive references to the existence of demons, especially based on the Bible.

The character of Peter is well executed by Will Beinbrink. He presented anxiety, regret, anger, and psychological conflicts that made the audience empathize with him.

With rich references, The Exorcism of God makes sense from the plot, conflict graphics and not many characterizations. So, it feels intimate and warm at the same time. The main character is close to the audience. Some scenes managed to scare, but some just appeared. In fact, the appearance of the ghost is scary.

The Exorcism of God closes with an unexpected scene. The twist of the story at the end is shocking. The Exorcism of God has a universal message to any people. That, God and the devil cannot live in the same body. So, humans must make a choice to side with.
